Job summary

Urban Vault in Bengaluru is seeking a Legal Executive to manage contracts, compliance, and legal documentation across projects. You will work with sales, client relations, procurement, and operations, translating legal language into practical guidance for non-legal colleagues.

The role requires an LLB (LLM a plus) and 0–3 years' experience, with strong knowledge of Indian law, and excellent English communication. On-site role with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws required; LLM considered a plus.
• 0–3 years of experience in a legal role or internship.
• Familiarity with Indian Contract Act, Companies Act, and labour laws.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and vet client contracts, work orders, quotations, and project terms.
• Prepare and review vendor, supplier, and consultant agreements with appropriate terms.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, licenses, GST, and labour regulations.
• Handle notices, replies, and follow-ups; coordinate with external counsel when needed.
• Maintain organized repository of agreements, NDAs, licenses, and statutory docs.

Job description

We are looking for a Legal Executive to manage the contracts, compliance, and legal documentation that keep our projects and business running smoothly. You will work closely with the sales, client relations, procurement, and operations teams, and be the first point of reference for any legal question. The role suits someone who can turn legal language into clear, practical guidance for non-legal colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Client contracts: Draft, review, and vet client agreements, work orders, quotations, and project terms. Make sure scope, payment milestones, timelines, warranties, and liabilities are clearly defined.
• Vendor and contractor agreements: Prepare and review agreements with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants. Include appropriate terms on quality, delivery, penalties, and indemnity.
• Compliance: Keep the company compliant with applicable laws and licences, including company law filings, GST-related requirements, labour laws, shops and establishment rules, and any permissions required for site work.
• Dispute and recovery support: Handle legal notices, replies, and follow-ups. Support the resolution of client or vendor disputes and payment recoveries, and coordinate with external counsel when needed.
• Documentation and records: Maintain a well‑organised repository of agreements, licences, NDAs, and statutory documents with renewal and expiry tracking.
• Employment documentation: Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, NDAs, and HR policies in coordination with the HR team.
• Risk advisory: Flag legal risks in proposed deals, project terms, and business decisions, and recommend safeguards.
• Intellectual property: Support trademark, copyright, and design‑related protection and enforcement where relevant.

Requirements

• LLB (LLM is a plus)
• 0 - 3 years of expereince
• Working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, Companies Act, Consumer Protection Act, RERA, and labour laws.
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Kannada/Hindi is a plus
