Job summary

Aule Space is seeking a Legal Associate to support legal, commercial, regulatory, policy and compliance work behind its missions in Bengaluru. You will review routine matters, draft and negotiate agreements, and upscale issues for review.

You will collaborate with external counsel, company teams and authorities to ensure robust governance, IP protection and regulatory filings. On-site work in Bengaluru is expected.

Qualifications

• LL.B. degree from a recognized Indian university.
• 2–5 years post-qualification experience in a law firm, corporate legal team or regulator.
• Strong drafting, review, negotiation and legal research skills.
• Knowledge of contract, company and IP law.
• Clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, execute and administer commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, partners and tech relationships.
• Ensure regulatory compliance domestically and internationally and coordinate with authorities and advisers.
• Assist with regulatory applications, licences, filings and correspondence with government authorities.
• Support governance, fundraising, statutory compliance and due-diligence with external advisers.
• Protect and manage Aule's IP and confidential information.
• Conduct legal research and provide actionable guidance to internal teams.
• Develop templates, policies, playbooks, records and contract-management processes.
• Work with stakeholders and counsel to address legal risks proactively.

Job description

As a Legal Associate, you will support the legal, commercial, regulatory, policy, and compliance work behind Aule's missions. You will work closely with external counsel, take ownership of the initial review of routine matters, and upscale material or novel issues for further review.

Responsibilities

• Support the drafting, review, negotiation, execution, and administration of commercial agreements across Aule's customer, supplier, partner and technology relationships
• Support compliance with applicable domestic and international legal and regulatory frameworks, including monitoring developments and coordinating with relevant authorities, external bodies and advisers on regulatory matters concerning Aule's business and space missions
• Assist with regulatory applications, licences, filings, submissions and correspondence with government authorities
• Support corporate governance, fundraising, statutory compliance and due-diligence activities in coordination with the external advisers
• Support the protection and management of Aule's intellectual property and confidential information
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical, and actionable guidance to internal teams
• Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, playbooks, records, compliance trackers and contract-management processes
• Work with internal stakeholders and external counsel to identify, assess and address legal and contractual risks in a proactive and timely manner

What We Look For

• 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm, corporate legal team or regulatory body
• Strong contract drafting, review, negotiation, and legal research skills
• Working knowledge of contract law, company law and intellectual property law
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Keen attention to details and document-management skills
• Ability to multi-task across different timezones to proactively close work deliverables
• Comfortable working on-site with technical and business teams in Bengaluru

Strong relevant internships may be considered for fresh graduates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to aerospace, defence, deep tech, hardware, manufacturing, telecom or another regulated industry
• Experience with procurement contracts, government contracts, regulatory filings or fundraising due diligence
• Interest in space law and emerging regulatory frameworks

A specialisation in space law is a plus.
