Job summary

ZEISS India seeks a seasoned Master Data/Configuration specialist to drive end-to-end configuration services for product lines across global sites. The role emphasizes requirements engineering, stakeholder coordination, and maintaining master data across SAP systems, CRM, and BRIM.

Strong analytical skills and English fluency are essential. The candidate should manage data, pricing, and trade information while ensuring alignment with company standards and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business information systems or a similar qualification.
• 5-8 years of experience in master data management or a similar function.
• Proven proficiency in requirements engineering with technical and non-technical functions, such as sales and product management.
• Ability to plan and schedule multiple simultaneous and complex work packages and engage stakeholders across the globe to make their contributions in due time and quality.
• Strong expertise in the SAP modules SD and LO-VC (variant configuration) or AVC.
• Ideally experience in SAP CRM, SAP BRIM and Salesforce.
• Good understanding of innovation transfer, supply chain, and sales processes.
• Systematic and thorough working style.
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for critical details.
• Fluent in English communication and knowledge of any additional language.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end delivery of configuration services for a product line throughout the lifecycle, including:
• Collection of configuration requirements from various stakeholders (primarily based at German headquarter sites) while providing advisory regarding company design standards
• Finalization of product configuration specification in standardized templates, including consistency & feasibility checks, given the company specific modelling standards
• Delivery planning in collaboration with lifecycle engineering and project managers
• Variant configuration coding or code analysis in SAP ecosystem following the detailed company specific standards (standardized building blocks for most specific configuration problems available)
• Maintenance of additional data such as pricing, foreign-trade information, pictures, etc. in various connected applications
• Coordination of the validation (UAT, stress test) of the configuration model regarding behavior of the user interface and translation of user selections into production orders
• Processing of support tickets from data management key users, mainly supporting order fulfillment departments and sales & distribution partners across the globe
• Providing improvement ideas for processes, standards, and tooling - alignment and implementation of these ideas not expected
