Job summary

GE Vernova in Chennai is seeking a senior engineer to support APAC service activities, provide technical expertise on drives and power systems, and contribute to upgrades and site work for customers in the region.

The role requires 12+ years of experience in drive train and/or power system design, with knowledge of BESS and solar systems, control systems, and simulation programming. Occasional travel and liaison with multiple GE teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 12+ years of experience in drive train and/or power system design.
• Experience of BESS and Solar Systems.
• Knowledge of control systems; simulation programming; retrofit of control systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technical data from customer problems and prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.
• Develop or apply engineering standards.
• Provide phone and email support including alarms and trip history analysis and propose solutions.
• Use Smart Serve to document all customer cases and follow up to completion.
• Prepare Pre Site packs for FSEs detailing technical requirements and instructions.
• Create customer warning notices and advice notices for hardware or software problems.
• Specify, design and document drive trains including electrical design and component selection.
• Utilize computer simulation and calculation tools for design or analysis.
• Provide internal and external training and liaise with GE Power Conversion and Storage units, customers and suppliers.
• Produce technical proposals for upgrades of legacy systems.
• Collaborate with COE engineering support as required.
• Some overseas travel may be required.

Job Description

MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES

• Analysis of technical data from reported customer problems and creation of technical reports to discuss the findings, conclusions and recommendations.
• Application or development of engineering standards.
• Telephone and email support when required, including analysis of alarms and trip history data, and proposals for solutions to problems.
• Use of Smart Serve to document all customer cases and follow up to completion

Qualifications:

• Graduate with 12+ years of Experience of drive train and/or power system design.
• Experience of BESS and Solar Systems
• Knowledge of control systems
• Simulation programming.
• Previous knowledge and experience of GE Vernova drive products and systems.
• Practical experience in the retrofitting of control systems
