Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a skilled controls engineer to join the team for solar and battery energy storage projects. You will validate control software, create project-specific software, and support FAT, SAT, HIL testing and commissioning.

You will collaborate with project managers and multiple internal teams to finalize requirements and ensure customer satisfaction, while developing training material and documentation for installation and operations. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in electrical /electronic/instrumentation/controls engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in developing and implementing control software.
  • Experience in GE’s MarkVIe product & tools like GE’s Toolbox ST, Workstation ST, Cimplicity software (SCADA), P80i software is preferable.
  • Demonstrated Software expertise in Solar, Battery Energy storage, Plant level controls, validation and verification, formal methods, systems integration, advanced controls, or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with standard industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, EGD, Profibus, CAN bus, IEC 61850 and IEC 104 etc.
  • Experience in PLC, DCS, SCADA, SQL and Matlab Simulink software.
  • Experience in various countries grid code compliance particularly Australian grid code, PLQ & AEMO requirements, UK, USA, European, Germany, Itali, Turkey & India grid codes.
  • Familiar with AS/NZS safety standards.
  • Worked in any power generation industry like BESS, solar. renewable, thermal, nuclear etc.
  • Experience in communication networks equipment’s functionality, Selection, Software features, Hardware & Cyber security.
  • Demonstrated implementation of controls or systems integration in products and field engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Track overall status of controls deliverables and complete on time with quality for the assigned projects to meet goals of the control team.
  • Have close interaction with project managers, various internal teams and customers to finalize engineering requirements with respect to contract scope and deliver the same to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with customers with confidence and clarity.
  • Develop, improve, and administer customer overview and operational training material for the control system.
  • Work across the Hybrid engineering and services organizations to prepare documentation for installation, commissioning, and operations for use by internal GE employees and our customers.
  • Work on design, develop and deploy the control hardware configuration for each project and design the communication network, including but not limited to DI/DO, Ethernet, FO and other industrial communication etc.
  • Support problem identification and resolution of new and installed products.
  • Participate actively in controls design, Software code reviews, testing and software validation.
  • Work on standardization of controls project execution, software validation, implementation.
