Job summary

GE Healthcare Private Limited in India seeks a Lead Engineer – Systems Engineering to own end-to-end system deliverables, ensure design integrity, and meet regulatory and quality targets in NPI and productivity programs.

The role acts as the main integrator between Hardware and Software, delivering robust system architecture, performing design trade studies, and guiding verification and validation activities to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with project leadership and design responsibilities.
  • Healthcare/medical devices experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own end to end systems deliverables: requirements, traceability, system design, FMEA, risk management, verification & validation for NPI and productivity modules.
  • Lead system-level activities as part of the systems and productivity team.
  • Serve as main integrator between Hardware and Software functions to deliver high-quality product.
  • Design and deliver system architecture; quantify subsystem interactions and effects on performance.
  • Define product requirements for modules/components; drive CTQ / risk trades.
  • Manage configuration control and ensure regulatory compliance.

Lead Engineer – Systems Engineering

As a Lead Engineer – Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering the technical scope, performance, quality, and intellectual property for modules within New Product Introduction (NPI) and or productivity programs Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Your role will focus on ensuring feature integrity, design intent, product quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, regulatory compliance, and cost targets are met. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Own end to end systems deliverables such as requirements development, ensuring traceability and flow down of requirements, system design and analysis, FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis), Risk management, and Verification & Validation on NPI (New Product Introduction) and productivity program modules.
  • Lead overall system level activities as part of systems and productivity team
  • Provide domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between the different Hardware and Software functions to deliver the best high-quality product
  • Design and deliver the system architecture, conduct component and product integration; develop methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on product performance
  • Own and deliver design inputs and overall requirements.
  • Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component teams.
  • Responsible for driving CTQ (Critical to Quality) / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.
  • Manage the overall product configuration and configuration control system (manages the how).
  • Understand / translate the Standard compliance needs for the products and generate relevant requirements.
  • Lead engineering design team in technical design reviews and design test strategy definition, and technical risk analysis.
  • Leverage knowledge in advanced aspects of technical/functional areas and apply technical theory and practical experience with input from relevant functional areas to solve complex problems.
  • Work independently and possess a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery execution.
  • Aware of and comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or closely related discipline
  • 10+ years of related experience, including project leadership and design responsibilities

  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
  • Applied knowledge of Lean/Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for Reliability (DFR)
