Job summary

IF1860 GE Power Conversion India Private Limited seeks an experienced sourcing leader to develop and execute commodity strategies for Electrical, Electronics & Mechanical categories. You will manage global supplier relationships, drive sourcing initiatives, and negotiate contracts across a matrix organization with manufacturing teams.

The role requires strong communication, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to travel as needed to align with project requirements and quality goals.

There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and lead the overall commodity strategy for Electrical, Electronics & Mechanical commodities, still developing functional knowledge and skills. Manage projects in a matrix organization across the globe, including interacting with manufacturing personnel to understand unique supplier requirements of global supply chain business Partner with all GEV sites and lead the development & execution of sourcing strategies. Drive Sourcing initiatives including growing shared supplier spend, best cost country (BCC), productivity, rationalization of supply base, sole source reduction, cycle reduction, on time delivery and quality improvements, lean & pull production, and cash flow improvement. Lead the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management. Put in place and Manage supplier contracts / supply agreements. Collaborate with Cross functional team to drive fulfilment activities and ensure on-time delivery. May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.

Required Qualifications

A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others. This role requires basic experience in the Sourcing & New Product Sourcing. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree of Engineering Electrical/ Mechanical from an accredited university or college, with relevant experience in Sourcing 15 ~ 20 years. Experience working with SAP ERP - MM(Materials Module). Major commodities Exposure: Mechanical: Sheet Metal fabrication, Heavy Fabrications. Electrical: Cable Harness, Cooling units, System Controls, Heatsinks & Fan. Electronics : Active - Power Semiconductors / Passive: Power Capacitors & Power Resistors , PCBA (Printed circuit board assembly) Commodities covered can be changed, reduced, or enlarged depending on the business need.
