Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Team Lead) to drive design, development, and delivery of scalable web and API solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent job experience.
• 8+ years in enterprise app development (UI, backend, REST API) using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments, Azure preferred, and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all vital phases of project implementation, including functional requirements, technical design, development, unit testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Analyze, modify, and maintain existing software applications to meet agreed business requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
• Plan, prioritize, and monitor team deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and support team members in resolving complex technical issues.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while demonstrating flexibility, proactiveness, strong organization, and a focus on high-quality outcomes.
• Participate in requirements gathering, advise on technical solutions, and serve as a primary technical resource for both the team and end users.

In this role, you will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with architecture, product, and quality assurance teams, and provide technical leadership across key initiatives. Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise application development, including UI, backend, and REST API development using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Web Services, and related Microsoft technologies.


• Proven experience in full software development lifecycle activities, solution architecture, technical leadership, and guiding teams in defining requirements and delivering high-quality solutions.


• Hands-on experience with modern web technologies such as TypeScript, Angular, and Node.js, along with strong knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and application architecture.


• Experience developing and deploying applications in cloud environments, with Microsoft Azure preferred, including cloud-native services, security, monitoring, and scalability best practices.


• Strong understanding of Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering methodologies.


• Experience using GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing, and delivery efficiency.


• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.


• Experience in the brokerage, financial services, or investment industry is a plus.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent job experience.
