Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Chennai invites an experienced Lead Software Engineer - Python to set technical direction, deliver scalable software, and mentor teams. You will shape designs, drive delivery, and improve CI/CD with GitHub Actions while optimizing PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server performance.

You will partner with stakeholders, perform code reviews, oversee cross-functional implementation, refine architectures, and champion modern engineering practices in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience of 7-12 years with demonstrated strength in Python.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server for database modeling, tuning, and administration.
• Hands-on experience using GitHub Actions to automate workflows and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of ReactJS to build interactive, dynamic user interfaces.
• Solid understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies for collaborative planning and iterative delivery.
• Nice to have exposure to front-end frameworks other than ReactJS.
• Ability to optimize cross-platform application performance.
• Knowledge of advanced DevOps practices and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to capture requirements, produce technical designs, and align solutions to business objectives.
• Lead delivery of high-quality software systems that are scalable, maintainable, and robust.
• Perform technical reviews, including code reviews, to enforce best practices, coding standards, and performance targets.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive smooth implementation of features and end-to-end solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mentor team members by providing technical leadership and supporting skill growth.
• Champion modern engineering processes and tools, including CI/CD practices via GitHub Actions.
• Oversee database architecture design and ensure correct integration with application components.
