Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. invites a Lead Software Engineer – Java FS Angular to join our Chennai team, driving design, development and delivery of scalable full-stack solutions. You will mentor teammates and collaborate across cross-functional groups to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will interact with stakeholders, refine requirements, write robust code using Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices, and help shape performance and security practices across geographies.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of software engineering experience focusing on Java and full-stack development.
• Expertise in Java8+, Spring Boot and REST API.
• Proficiency in Microservices architecture.
• Skills in JUnit, JavaScript and SQL.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with AI Copilot tools.

Responsibilities

• Communicate directly with stakeholders on requirements gathering, refinement and demonstration of work results.
• Develop code based on established coding standards and architecture guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to team members.
• Create efficient unit, acceptance and integration tests.
• Collaborate with the Delivery Lead and Scrum Masters to facilitate planned releases.
• Support testing, training and implementation phases of projects.
• Handle non-functional requirements such as performance and security.
• Interact with multiple interface teams to ensure functionality works end-to-end.
• Deliver high-quality outputs while working closely with cross-functional teams across different time zones.
