Job summary

Metron Security is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive high-performance engineering teams building scalable cybersecurity integrations, data pipelines, and enterprise-grade backends. You’ll own end-to-end delivery—from requirements and architecture to deployment in cloud and on‑prem environments.

You’ll work with customers, architects, and developers to build secure, reliable systems while mentoring engineers and advancing CI/CD and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building scalable backend software using Go, Java, or both.
• Strong experience with Python, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Angular, C#, or C++.
• Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing APIs, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integrations.
• Proven track record mentoring engineers and leading projects.

• Implement stream-processing architectures with back-pressure handling and state management.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Design and optimize high-throughput, low-latency backend systems.

• Participate in Agile planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and sprint execution.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a systems-level engineer who enjoys designing distributed systems, solving difficult performance challenges, mentoring engineers, and continuously learning new technologies.

You should be comfortable switching between architecture, coding, customer discussions, technical leadership, and delivery ownership.

Must-Have Skills

• 4+ years building scalable backend software using Go (Golang) or Java.
• Strong experience with one or more additional technologies such as Python, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Angular, C#, or C++.
• Strong knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, concurrency, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing APIs, event-driven systems, and enterprise integrations.
• Ability to understand new security platforms rapidly and APIs.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Bonus Points If You

• Have experience with AI, LLMs, or intelligent automation.
• Have built AI agents or workflow automation solutions.
• Have worked on SIEM, SOAR, XDR, EDR, or enterprise cybersecurity platforms.
• Have experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployments.
• Have delivered projects end-to-end from discovery through production deployment.
• Contribute to Open Source projects.
• Maintain an active GitHub or GitLab portfolio.
