Job summary

Holiday Tribe is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build scalable services for its travel-tech platform. You will work with Node.js/Express, FastAPI, and Spring Boot to integrate with flights, hotels, and activities APIs, enabling AI-powered trip planning and booking.

You will collaborate closely with frontend and AI orchestration layers, design modular backend components, and optimize for real‑time performance. A builder's mindset in a fast‑moving startup is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience for product-based startups.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and async programming.
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Redis, RabbitMQ or Kafka, WebSockets and caching.
• Experience in high‑agency startup engineering teams with a builder's mindset.

What You’ll Do:

• Familiarity with message queues (e.g. Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka), web sockets, and caching mechanisms.

• Ability to write clean, modular, testable code.
