Job summary

First Advantage is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide hands-on leadership for a high-performance engineering team building scalable, secure web applications. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and drive delivery in an Agile/DevOps environment.

You will oversee design and implementation of critical platform components, collaborate with other functions, and recruit top talent to sustain fast growth. Excellent technical and people leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Overall 10+ years of hands-on software development and quality assurance experience.
• At least 5+ years in a technical leadership role with hands-on software development and QA.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive key pieces of First Advantage’s next-generation global platform architecture and implementation.
• Drive organizational alignment with goals, priorities and team allocation to achieve business objectives.
• Champion Agile Scrum framework and DevOps within the team and influence others.
• Manage team of developers, design and implement new functionality and improve existing products.
• Recruit top talent.
• Own scheduling and on-time delivery of features across the SDLC.
• Collaborate across engineering, operations and business partner teams for scalable, reliable enterprise services.
• Regularly communicate program/status to stakeholders.
• Model performance excellence and mentor your team to do the same.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• BE/BTech/BS or master’s in computer science or related discipline
• Overall 10+ years of experience with hands‑on experience in software development and quality assurance.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role with hands‑on experience in software development and quality assurance.

What You May Need To Be Successful

• Demonstrated experience in driving development and delivery within an Agile (Scrum or Kanban) / DevOps environment.
• Strong architecture, design, and implementation skills with a strong coding background in C#.
• Comfort working with GIT based source control in a collaborative environment
• Experience with .Net, .NET Core, MVC, ASP.Net, Windows Services, Windows Applications, MS SQL Server
• Technical leadership experience with RESTful API, JSON, and XML based projects
• Experience with NLog, log4net, or similar logging frameworks
• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS with familiarity with AWS CLI/CFT etc., and microservice‑based architecture is strongly desired.
• High degree of competency within all phases of project management / SDLC including issue and risk identification and management, change management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills across, up, and down the organization.
• Demonstrated maturity, judgment, negotiation and analytical skills.
• A strong drive and passion to learn new businesses and internet technologies.
