Job summary

ZEISS in India is seeking a senior project manager to translate business goals into baselined plans and coordinate cross-functional teams across departments. You will own project execution, ensure on-time delivery, control costs, and meet quality and regulatory standards in the medical devices space.

The role requires a university degree and international hardware project management experience, preferably in healthcare or optics, with knowledge of MDR/ISO 13485.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field.
• Certification in IPMA, PMI or comparable is preferred.
• Extensive experience in international hardware project management in healthcare/optics.
• Knowledge of MDR/ISO 13485 is a plus.
• Experience leading global cross-functional teams and managing budgets.

Your Role

• Translating business objectives into baselined plans with identified milestones, working with functional leads across departments to co-ordinate resources and keep plans up to date.
• Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to align direction and delivery milestones.
• Own execution of assigned projects, ensuring keeping to time, cost and quality requirements and additionally managing scope and other changes through appropriate control measures.
• Ensure deliverables meet agreed quality and regulatory standards within medical device industry and align with organisational objectives.
• Lead the projects you own by setting priorities, removing blockers and coaching others to deliver without direct line management authority.
• Identifying and supporting with potential risks and issues that could impact the project and make risk management a proactive exercise of cross-functional teams.
• Supporting with the management of project budget, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently by tracking spend against plan and managing POs and invoices.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organisational project management processes and standards.

• University Degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or a related field. Related widely recognized certification in the field of project and/or programme management: IPMA, PMI or comparable certifications.
• Advanced years of experience in international hardware project management, ideally within the healthcare or optical industry combined with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing healthcare projects, programmes or products, ideally in the field of eye health.
• Solid understanding of product development lifecycles, from research and concept through design, industrialisation, and market introduction. Experience/knowledge in regulated environments is a plus e.g., medical devices (MDR, ISO 13485)
• Demonstrable success in managing global and cross-functional teams, collaborating with various stakeholders, including R&D, product management, quality and regulatory management or sales teams to achieve project/programme objectives. Ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders and external partners effectively.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, agile) in addition to general project management skills (like resource planning, budget management, risk management, timeline management and stakeholder management). Strong planning and organisational skills to facilitate and provide structure for others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences in understandable formats. Fluent written and spoken English skills.
• Experience working in a global environment in remote and hybrid teams
