We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team of Linux and C++ developers, with a strong focus on cybersecurity and secure software development. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of secure, high‑performance Linux‑based platforms for medical devices, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers specializing in Linux systems, C++, and cybersecurity.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Define team and individual goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career progression.
- Optimize team capacity and resource allocation to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
Project & Technical Management
- Plan, prioritize, and manage the end‑to‑end delivery of secure, scalable software solutions aligned with project and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with technical leads to implement hardened Linux configurations, secure architectures, and performance‑critical C++ modules.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring on‑time and compliant product releases.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key liaison between Development, QA, DevOps, Product Management, and global stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical and compliance requirements into executable engineering plans.
- Ensure clear, timely, and transparent communication across all project phases.
Quality, Compliance & Innovation
- Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
- Stay current with industry trends in Linux security, C++ development, and medical software compliance.
- Ensure alignment with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices and compliance frameworks such as ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 15‑20 years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management role.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity, Shell scripting within regulated industries (preferably healthcare).
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of Linux internals, system‑level programming, and secure operating system configurations.
- Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11/14/17), Bash, and Python.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, secure coding practices, and code review workflows.
- Hands‑on familiarity with DevOps concepts and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of medical device regulatory standards and secure development frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high‑performing engineering teams.
- Strategic mindset with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and geographies.
