Job summary

L&T Technology Services in Chennai, India is seeking a process engineer to develop steady state and dynamic process models using Aspen Plus and Aspen Hysys. You will perform PSV sizing, piping and equipment calculations, and prepare datasheets for process equipment and utility systems.

You will coordinate with project teams and vendors, communicating with onsite and offshore members to deliver high-quality process engineering deliverables on time. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience on performing steady state and dynamic process simulation using Aspen Plus / Aspen Hysys is a must.

Responsibilities

• Develop steady state and dynamic process models for system sizing and optimisation using Aspen Plus and/or Aspen Hysys.
• Perform pressure relief system analysis in Aspen.
• Develop / Review of PFD and P&ID's.
• Perform & Review of process engineering calculations such as Mass & Energy balances, pipeline sizing & pressure drop calculations.
• Prepare & review specification datasheets of chemical process equipment, utility systems & ETP systems.
• Coordinate with project execution team for process engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment selection & technical evaluation.
• Communicate with onsite/offshore team for project execution.
• Manage a team of process engineers for execution with Quality and on time delivery.
• Travel to client site within India or abroad for assignments.

Job description

• Development of steady state and dynamic process simulation models for system sizing and optimisation using Aspen plus and/or Aspen Hysys.

• Co-ordinate with various stake holders of project execution team for execution of process engineering deliverables
• Co-ordinate with various vendors for selection of process equipment & Technical evaluation of vendor quotes for process equipments and other utility/process package items.
• Communicate with onsite / offshore team for executing the projects.
• Manage a team of process engineers for execution of Process engineering scope in various project with Quality and on time
• Travel to Client site within India or abroad for assignments requiring short/long term deputation.

Skills Required

• Hands on experience on performing steady state and dynamic Process simulation using Aspen plus / Aspen Hysys is a must.
• Hands on experience performing PSV sizing and pressure relief system analysis using Aspen plus / Aspen Hysys is a must.
• Process Modelling, Data Analysis, Programming/Script writing.
• Experience of working in process design engineering activities in any of the industries such as Engineering Design Services / Agrochemical / Pharmaceuticals / Bulk drugs / Fine Chemicals / Specialty Chemicals / FMCG
• Handson experience in execution / review of various process engineering deliverables as outlined in Job description mentioned above.
• Knowledge on calculations related to compressible fluid, Incompressible fluids - both Newtonian and non Newtonian fluids is a must.
• Knowledge on development of macros with VB code in MS Excel will be an added advantage.
• Experience managing a team with minimum 3 team members
