Job summary

BMC IT in Pune seeks a Lead Platform System Admin with deep expertise in Application Infrastructure Architecture, DevOps, and Enterprise Operations. You will design, deploy, and support highly available, secure platforms across hybrid cloud environments (On Prem, SaaS, PaaS).

The role demands hands-on leadership in enterprise-scale production, automation, and improving resilience and efficiency across IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, and enterprise IT operations.
• Experience designing hybrid On-Prem, SaaS, and PaaS platforms.
• Proven leadership of large-scale enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and automation.
• Experience with security, governance, and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support production application environments with high availability, performance, scalability, and security.
• Lead incident management, RCA, and problem resolution for critical production issues.
• Design and maintain application infrastructure architectures across hybrid cloud platforms.
• Enforce IT governance and security policies for applications and infrastructure.
• Implement DevOps and DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and security analysis.
• Reduce MTTR through automation, monitoring, and observability solutions.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to troubleshoot and assess business impact.
• Drive continuous improvement for upgrades, patching, and optimization.
• Provide technical leadership and cross-team coordination.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations as required.

Job Summary

BMC IT is seeking a Lead Platform System Admin with deep expertise in Application Infrastructure Architecture, DevOps, and Enterprise Operations. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting highly available, secure, and scalable application platforms across hybrid cloud environments (On Prem, SaaS, PaaS).

The ideal candidate has strong hands on technical capabilities, experience leading enterprise scale production environments, and a proven track record of improving system resilience, automation, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support production application environments, ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and security.
• Lead incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical production issues.
• Design and maintain application infrastructure architectures across hybrid cloud platforms.
• Enforce IT governance, security policies, and compliance standards for applications and infrastructure.
• Implement DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, security analysis, remediation and integration.
• Reduce MTTR and outage windows through automation, proactive monitoring, and observability solutions.
• Collaborate with application, network, security, and platform teams to troubleshoot and assess business impact.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for application upgrades, patching, and infrastructure optimization.
• Provide technical leadership, stakeholder communication, and cross team coordination.
• Participate in 24x7 on call rotations as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of experience in the below skills :-
• Application Infrastructure Design
• DevOps / DevSecOps
• Enterprise IT Operations
• Proven experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Application Infrastructure Architecture (Hybrid: On-Prem, SaaS, PaaS)
• Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, AIX
• Cloud Platforms: AWS ; Azure
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, and/or Azure for scalable AI implementation
• Agentic AI & RAG: Designing autonomous agent systems and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines. Microsoft Power Platform and Co-pilot experience preferred.
• MLOps/AIOps: Skills in automating, managing, and monitoring AI agents, pipelines and agent security.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, JFrog
