Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a Lead Oracle DBA to drive migration, upgrade, and DR implementation for a large OSS/BSS Transformation Program. You will transition Oracle Communications apps from VMware to OLVM, upgrade DBs to 19c/23ai, and establish a highly available DR setup using Data Guard.

You will mentor junior DBAs, define standards, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth cutovers and performance tuning across DEV‑UAT‑PROD environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience (12c–19c/23ai).
• Deep hands-on expertise with Oracle Data Guard, configuration and operations.
• Strong RMAN knowledge, backup validation, and recovery scenarios.
• SQL performance tuning using AWR/ASH and Explain Plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead Oracle database migrations from VMware-based to OLVM-based environments.
• Design and implement Oracle Data Guard (physical standby) for DR and failover.
• Perform schema upgrades for Siebel/BRM/UIM databases.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexing, and database performance for transformed stacks.
• Implement and maintain RMAN backup strategies, validation, and monitoring.
• Conduct AWR, ASH, and SQL tuning analysis post-upgrade.
• Define database standards across DEV‑UAT‑PROD environments.
• Collaborate with apps, infra, and PM on integration planning.
• Mentor mid-level DBAs and guide change management activities.

• Optimize SQL queries, indexing, and database performance for transformed application stacks.
• Implement and maintain RMAN backup strategies, validation, and monitoring.
• Conduct AWR, ASH, and SQL tuning analysis to ensure post-upgrade performance.
• Define database standards and best practices across DEV - UAT - PROD environments.
• Collaborate with app teams, infrastructure, and project management on integration planning.
• Mentor mid-level DBAs and guide database change management activities.
