Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a Lead Oracle DBA to drive migration, upgrade, and DR for a large OSS/BSS transformation. You will move Oracle Apps (Siebel, BRM, UIM) from VMware to OLVM, upgrade databases to 19c/23ai, and establish a robust Data Guard DR setup to ensure high availability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience (12c, 19c/23ai).
• Proven Oracle Data Guard experience (physical standby).
• Strong RMAN backup and recovery expertise.
• SQL performance tuning using AWR, ASH, and Explain Plans.
• Hands-on with Siebel, BRM, and UIM schemas.
• Migration planning and cutover execution experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Lead Oracle DBA to drive the database migration, upgrade, and DR implementation for a large-scale OSS/BSS Transformation Program. This includes transitioning Oracle Communications applications (Siebel, BRM, UIM, etc.) from VMware to OLVM, upgrading Oracle DBs to 19c/23ai, and establishing a highly available DR setup using Data Guard.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Oracle database migrations from VMware-based to OLVM-based environments.
• Design and implement Oracle Data Guard (physical standby) for DR and failover.
• Perform schema upgrades for Oracle Communications Suite (Siebel 24.x, BRM 12.x, UIM).
• Optimize SQL queries, indexing, and database performance for transformed application stacks.
• Implement and maintain RMAN backup strategies, validation, and monitoring.
• Conduct AWR, ASH, and SQL tuning analysis to ensure post-upgrade performance.
• Define database standards and best practices across DEV UAT PROD environments.
• Collaborate with app teams, infrastructure, and project management on integration planning.
• Mentor mid-level DBAs and guide database change management activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration (12c 19c/23ai).
• Proven experience with Oracle Data Guard, both configuration and operational management.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN, recovery scenarios, and backup validation.
• SQL performance tuning using AWR, ASH, Explain Plans.
• Hands-on experience with Siebel, BRM, and/or UIM database schemas.
• Understanding of database dependencies in OSS/BSS systems.
• Experience with migration planning and cutover execution.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
