Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - MES Engineer to drive end-to-end MES projects from requirements through deployment and production support. The role partners with manufacturing teams to translate processes into MES solutions and coordinates with external vendors for project execution.

You will lead SIT/UAT, oversee MES integrations with ERP and shop-floor systems, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Proven experience leading MES implementation and enhancement projects in manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication, assembly, testing, quality, and material flow.
• Experience working with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing external vendors and coordinating software delivery activities.
• Experience with MES configuration, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with manufacturing teams to understand business processes and translate requirements into MES solutions.
• Drive MES implementation roadmaps while ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
• Coordinate with external vendors for development, enhancements, issue resolution, and project execution.
• Manage MES enhancement backlogs, prioritize business requirements, and track delivery commitments.
• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production validation activities.
• Support integration of MES with enterprise and shop-floor systems such as ERP, automation equipment, and machine interfaces.
• Monitor MES system performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the escalation point for critical MES incidents and coordinate resolution across stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and support procedures.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.
• Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to business and management stakeholders.
