Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline in Bengaluru seeks an experienced finance professional to partner with Site Finance for timely month-end reporting and cost accounting processes. You will contribute to Product Costing, standard setting, and internal controls within GSC, driving standardization and improvements across the GSK global finance framework.

The role requires 6–8 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, SAP/Power BI familiarity, and excellent communication in a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in accounting.
• Knowledge of management accounting and reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Master’s Degree in Finance or CIMA/ ACCA/ or relevant qualification
• Fluent English
• Able to effectively manage time against agreed deadlines for activities.
• Expert level Excel skills, preferably with experience of AO and other automation.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for delivery of assigned GSC processes according to agreed GSK operating model and/or Service Level Agreements whilst ensuring full compliance with GSK and external accounting policies.
• Operate according to governance frameworks, policies and internal controls, prepare reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts in scope as well as other relevant internal controls.
• Align and partner with Site Finance to review results against plan, analyze trends, spot anomalies or errors and identify improvement opportunities.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, manage stakeholder expectations, and needs, communicate effectively in all interactions through various means.
• Manage own time appropriately to ensure assigned processes are performed and delivered in line with agreed timelines, and according to standard work approach.
• Seek development and improvement, to deliver a level of expertise in assigned process to the benefit of GSK group and site customers.
• Actively support continuous improvement within the scope and across GSK, striving for standardization and improved performance to support delivery of wider organizational objectives.
• Support Annual Standard Setting and Product Costing processes.
• Support additional processes across GSC scope as required.

Job Purpose

Act as a partner to the Site Finance, providing timely and accurate reporting for Month End Close activities, as well as outside MEC processes. Support site Product Costing and Annual Standard Setting activities, control and audit requirements, i.e. internal and external audit, ICFW and other controls. Participate in and support global projects for process improvements, standardization, or new process implementations. Drive for excellence in GSK processes and contributing widely to a high-performance culture within the team.

Qualifications & Skills

• 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in accounting related fields
• Knowledge of management accounting and reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Master’s Degree in Finance or CIMA/ ACCA/ or relevant qualification
• Fluent English
• Able to effectively manage time against agreed deadlines for activities.
• Expert level Excel skills, preferably with experience of AO and other automation
• Strong working knowledge of multiple systems/tools e.g. SAP, Power BI, SAC Data Analytics tools knowledge preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communicator, confident in interacting with all levels of individuals across a variety of internal functions (finance and non-finance) and customer groups, in a multinational environment.
• Flexibility and ‘can do’ attitude, drive to ensure that task is achieved.
• Team working skills are paramount in enabling the jobholder to function effectively, to provide and receive support within small team of colleagues.
• Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously and put plans in place to balance /prioritize conflicting demand
