Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a senior software engineer to drive the design and delivery of distributed systems. You will collaborate with engineering teams to solve business problems, implement high-quality software, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 10+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer
• 2+ years of experience working in any cloud environment - Azure, AWS, GCP
• Knowledge of Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, Python
• Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full SDLC
• Knowledge or working experience in AI/ML
• Solid CS fundamentals: OOP, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis

Responsibilities

• Write high quality distributed system software
• Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
• Perform code review and mentor junior engineers
• Be flexible, adapting to meet the needs of the team, project, or product
• Mentoring and developing other engineers on the team
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle - design, implementation, testing, CI/CD and production operations
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements
