The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Business teams to ensure cloud spend delivers maximum business value while maintaining cost efficiency, transparency, and compliance. The candidate should have hands-on experience with FinOps practices and IBM Cloud ability tool governance and be actively working on large-scale cloud environments and FinOps management. A. KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities 1) Cloud Cost Management & Optimization : Lead end-to-end cloud financial management across AWS / Azure / GCP environments. Analyze cloud usage and spend trends; identify cost-saving opportunities Drive rightsizing, reserved instances, savings plans, and commitment-based discounts Implement chargeback/show back models for business units 2) FinOps Strategy & Governance: Define and own FinOps framework, policies, and best practices. Establish cost allocation standards (tagging, labeling, account structure) Enforce budget controls, alerts, and forecasting mechanisms Partner with Finance to align cloud spend with financial planning cycles. 3) Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Engineering, Finance, and Leadership Influence engineering teams to build cost-efficient architectures Support leadership with cost transparency, KPIs, and executive dashboards Provide guidance on cloud pricing models and vendor negotiations. 4) Reporting & Forecasting: Develop dashboards and reports for cost visibility, forecasting, and variance analysis Track unit economics (cost per service, per user, per transaction) Support audits and compliance requirements related to cloud spend. 5) Tools & Automation: Implement and manage FinOps tools (native & third-party)Automate cost optimization, reporting, and anomaly detection Evaluate and onboard new tools/processes to improve cost efficiency. Govern and manage FinOps tools including IBM Cloud ability B. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT Must Have Skills & Experience 6-8+ years in Cloud Financial Management / FinOps Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cost management Proven track record of delivering measurable cloud cost savings Hands-on experience with FinOps practices and IBM Cloud ability tool governance. Experience working on large-scale cloud environments and active FinOps management Technical Background Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and billing constructs Experience with tools such as: AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing Cloud Health, Apptio, Cloud ability, or similar FinOps tools Good understanding of cloud architecture, containers, and microservices Preferred Qualifications FinOps Certified Practitioner / Professional Experience in multi-cloud or large-scale cloud environments Exposure to SaaS cost management and enterprise procurement Experience working in agile / DevOps environments Reduced cloud spend without impacting performance or scalability High cost visibility and accountability across teams Accurate forecasting and predictable cloud budgets Strong adoption of FinOps culture across the organization.
