Job summary

Jacobs is hiring for ELV design specialists to lead BMS, fire detection and security systems for data center or industrial projects in India. You will apply IS/IEC standards, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and review 3D models using Navisworks to ensure design integrity.

The role requires BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering with 8–10 years of ELV experience. Onsite work in Mumbai, with collaboration, tendering, and adherence to international codes.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
• 8–10 years ELV design experience in Data Centers or industrial projects.
• Design of BMS, chiller plant automation, fire detection, PA, telecom and security systems.
• Experience with Navisworks for 3D model reviews.
• Knowledge of IS/IEC ELV standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Basis of Design, IO summaries, and fire alarm cause-and-effect.
• Prepare tender documents, data sheets and BOQ; review vendor shop drawings.
• Perform design reviews and participate in team meetings to ensure timely deliverables.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and conduct checks on drawings.
• Coordinate with construction team to ensure installation per design.
• Apply Indian and International codes for the design.

Your impact

• Prepare / review Basis of Design. BMS IO summary, Sequence of operations for various systems, cause & effect matrix for Fire alarm system. Detail drawings for field devices and cable conduit layouts.
• Tender documents with relevant design, Technical specifications, material requisition, data sheets and BOQ as per requirement. Preparing TBA/ TBE, review of technical data sheets and shop drawings submitted by various vendors/ contractors.
• Evaluating and Performing design reviews and participating in team meetings to ensure timely deliverables.
• Coordination with other disciplines and perform squad checks on drawing received from other disciplines.
• Coordinating with construction team to ensure proper installation as per design.
• Hands on experience of Indian and International codes for the design.

Self-driven with good management & reporting capabilities. Understanding on TIA-942-B Standard for Data Centers. Knowledge of 3D engineering, proficiency in review of 3D models using Navisworks is mandatory. Knowledge of ELV codes and standards is mandatory. Knowledge of IS / IEC standards.

• 8-10 years of experience in handling ELV Design activities. In Data-center or Industrial projects.
• Design of BMS, Chiller plant Automation, Fire detection , PA , Telecom and Security system for Data Center or Industrial Projects.
• Experience in conceptual design at preliminary stage by understanding the project requirement by following relevant codes & standards.
• Selection of best suited instruments or devices and their specifications for building automation, fire alarm and security system design.
