Job summary

Jacobs seeks a senior Instrumentation & Controls professional to design and engineer pharmaceutical and chemical facility Instrumentation & Automation systems. You will handle DCS/PLC/SCADA design, vendor coordination, and equipment selection to meet project needs.

Responsibilities include FAT/SAT, commissioning, BAS/EMS integration, and adherence to 21 CFR Part 11; strong focus on Smart Plant Instrumentation and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BTech/BSc Engineering – Instrumentation & Control required.
• 12+ years experience in Pharma/Life Sciences/biotech facility instrumentation & automation design.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail Instrument engineering for pharma/chemical projects (DCS/PLC/SCADA).
• Prepare enquiry specs, review quotes, TRs, and order specs; review vendor drawings and instrumentation content for mechanical packages.
• Work on FAT/SAT and commissioning of control systems in relevant industries.
• Select instruments, control valves; implement BAS and EMS; ensure compliance with pharma regulations (21 CFR Part 11).
• Proficient in Smart Plant Instrumentation.

Your impact

• Candidate must have strong experience on design of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility / Specialty Chemical/Chemical Projects in terms of Instrument & Automation design.
• Should perform detailed Instrument engineering activities for industrial projects like FMCG and chemical industries covering DCS, PLC, SCADA and foundation field bus, various types of layouts, procurement activity for instrument items covering preparation of enquiry specification, review of quotes and preparation of TR, preparation of order specifications, review of vendor drawings, review of instrument content for mechanical packages.
• Exposure / experience on DCS, PLC, SCADA based control system including FAT, SAT and commissioning of control system used in above mentioned industries.
• Selection of Instruments and control valves.
• Good knowledge in terms of selection of Building Automation System (BAS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Sound knowledge of engineering code and standard,
• Sound knowledge of pharma regulatory requirement including 21 CFR, Part 11
• Sound knowledge of engineering code and standard,
• Proficient in Smart Plant Instrumentation
