Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control engineer to design and deliver instrumentation and automation for pharma, biotech, and chemical projects in facility environments. You will craft instrument layouts, specify equipment, and drive integration with DCS/PLC/SCADA systems.

The role requires expertise in regulatory aspects (21 CFR etc.), FAT/SAT, and commissioning, with a strong focus on building automation and EMS, supporting complex projects across FMCG and chemical

Qualifications

• Design instrumentation and automation layouts for pharma/Life Science facilities.
• Detail instrument engineering activities for industrial projects (FMCG/chemical) covering DCS/PLC/SCADA and field buses.
• Knowledge of FAT/SAT and commissioning of control systems in relevant industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrument engineering for pharmaceutical/biotech facilities and chemical projects.
• Prepare enquiry specs, review quotes, and draft TR and order specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors and review instrument content for mechanical packages.

Job description

Your impact

• Candidate must have strong experience on design of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility / Specialty Chemical/Chemical Projects in terms of Instrument & Automation design.
• Should perform detailed Instrument engineering activities for industrial projects like FMCG and chemical industries covering DCS, PLC, SCADA and foundation field bus, various types of layouts, procurement activity for instrument items covering preparation of enquiry specification, review of quotes and preparation of TR, preparation of order specifications, review of vendor drawings, review of instrument content for mechanical packages.
• Exposure / experience on DCS, PLC, SCADA based control system including FAT, SAT and commissioning of control system used in above mentioned industries.
• Selection of Instruments and control valves.
• Good knowledge in terms of selection of Building Automation System (BAS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Sound knowledge of engineering code and standard,
• Sound knowledge of pharma regulatory requirement including 21 CFR, Part 11
• Sound knowledge of engineering code and standard,
• Proficient in Smart Plant Instrumentation
