Job summary

Iquest Management Consultants in Mumbai seeks a Lead Engineering Excellence to establish maintenance best practices across manufacturing sites and uplift plant engineering standards.

You will lead teams, drive energy conservation, evaluate new technologies, support shutdowns, and oversee major capex projects while ensuring quality and cost objectives. Exposure to chemical plants is essential.

Qualifications

• Support plant shutdown planning and resource estimation; troubleshoot issues and perform RCA.
• Evaluate new technologies for manufacturing processes.

• Define & institutionalize robust maintenance practices at manufacturing sites.
• Improve plant engineering and maintenance team skill sets.
• Support major Shutdown planning and review job lists and resources.
• Provide direct support for troubleshooting maintenance issues and carry out RCA.
• Evaluate technical aspects for procurement of major equipment and services.
• Lead project planning and execution for major manufacturing projects.

Education

B.E. Mech Engg-Masters degree (preferred)

Relevant professional certifications (TPM, Quality Circle)

• Relevant professional certifications preferred in TPM, Quality Circle etc.

Relevant and Total Years of Experience

• 20 - 30 years of relevant experience
• Experience in handling teams and business units
• Exposure to Chemical plant is must

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose:

• Define & institutionalize robust maintenance best practices and standards at the manufacturing sites
• Improve the skill set of plant engineering and maintenance teams.
• Support plants in major Shut Down planning and review the job list and resource requirements. Provide direct support to plant for troubleshooting maintenance issue, carry out quality RCA and address chronic issues.
• Evaluation and absorption of new technologies and innovations in manufacturing processes.
• Improving reliability of Plant and equipment. Develop effective relationship with OEM and developing alternative vendor capabilities.
• Improve Energy conservation and Sustainability performance.
• Review the Design and Engineering for major capex projects as per engineering standards to ensure robust design and optimum cost.
• Evaluate technical aspects for procurement of major equipment, spare parts, technology, service suppliers to ensure required quality and cost.
• Responsible for entire Project Planning and execution for major projects executed by manufacturing team.

Focus on building competitive edge in market place, superior product quality, higher plant efficiencies/productivity, and improved environmental performance.

Improving Plant Reliability and Performance.

Capital Projects Engineering, Design (Rotary/Heat Transfer/Piping and other equipment)

Support Major Shutdown and Overhauling of heavy equipment

• Facilitate and coach plant teams and identify skill gaps for achieving robust plant performance, facilitate training.
• Establishes and maintain performance metrics to track training program success in coordination with HR team.

Identify training needs in Process and Engineering Department and arrange for the same.
