Job summary

Isko Engineering Pvt. Ltd. in Vadodara seeks an experienced engineering leader to drive end-to-end EPC projects.

You will head multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, piping, process, civil, electrical, instrumentation and automation, establishing standards and ensuring on-time, cost-effective deliverables. The role requires strong project coordination skills, vendor engagement, and the ability to review PFDs, P&IDs, layouts and design philosophies to maintain safety and constructability.

Job description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Overall Engineering Leadership

• Lead end-to-end engineering activities across multiple EPC projects, from conceptual and basic engineering to detailed design and construction support.
• Head multidisciplinary engineering teams covering Mechanical, Piping, Process, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation.
• Establish engineering strategies, design standards, technical procedures and quality benchmarks.
• Ensure timely, accurate and cost-effective engineering deliverables aligned with project schedules.

2. Multidisciplinary Design & Technical Management

• Provide technical leadership in mechanical equipment engineering, piping systems, plant layouts and 3D plant design.
• Review overall engineering concepts, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, design philosophies and critical engineering interfaces.
• Ensure seamless integration and coordination between different engineering disciplines.
• Conduct multidisciplinary design reviews, resolve technical conflicts and ensure design safety, constructability and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS, ASME, API, IEC, IEEE and other relevant engineering codes and standards.

3. Project Engineering & Execution Coordination

• Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning teams to ensure effective engineering support.
• Monitor engineering progress, resource allocation, deliverable schedules and technical milestones across projects.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges, site technical queries and design modifications.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet client requirements, project specifications and contractual obligations.

4. Vendor, Client & Commercial Coordination

• Lead technical discussions with clients, consultants, technology providers and equipment vendors.
• Oversee preparation and review of technical specifications, BOQs, MTOs, technical bid evaluations and vendor engineering documents.
• Provide engineering inputs for project estimation, tendering, technical proposals and feasibility assessments.
• Drive value engineering, design optimization and cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.

5. Engineering Team Development & Performance

• Lead, mentor and develop discipline leads, engineers, designers and technical professionals.
• Establish engineering KPIs covering productivity, accuracy, quality, resource utilization and on-time delivery.
• Standardize engineering processes, drawing review systems, documentation and design approval workflows.
• Identify technology, software, training and manpower requirements to strengthen the engineering department.
• Drive accountability, innovation, technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. M.E. / M.Tech will be an added advantage.
• 1525 years of engineering experience, preferably in EPC companies, engineering consultancies or industrial/process plant engineering organizations.
• Minimum 5 years in senior engineering management or multidisciplinary engineering leadership roles preferred.
• Strong hands-on background in mechanical engineering, piping design, plant layouts and industrial equipment systems.
• Proven experience managing multiple engineering disciplines and coordinating complete plant engineering deliverables.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, utilities or other industrial projects preferred.
• Exposure to the complete EPC project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
