Role
- You will drive Homologation activities for future BMW vehicles, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements and supporting vehicle launch readiness.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, testing functions, and international stakeholders across BMW Group to achieve timely homologation approvals.
- Work closely with experts from Munich and BMW TechWorks India to coordinate certification, regulatory documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Join BMW TechWorks India in the Digital Product Engineering Cluster, contributing to Subsystem Management - Homologation for overall vehicle development.
- Coordinate daily with design, development, validation, and regulatory teams to ensure vehicle systems meet applicable legal and market-specific requirements.
- Be part of a cross‑functional team that values quality, innovation, and efficient execution throughout the vehicle development and certification lifecycle.
- Work in a fast‑paced international environment that fosters continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and regulatory expertise development.
What should you bring along
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in automotive homologation, vehicle certification, regulatory compliance, or vehicle integration.
- Strong understanding of global automotive regulations, type approval processes, certification requirements, and homologation procedures.
- Experience in coordinating homologation activities across engineering, testing, validation, quality, and regulatory teams.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as CATIA and PLM systems (Teamcenter) for engineering data and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, regulatory documentation, certification planning, and market-specific compliance requirements.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and international stakeholders.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Very good English language skills (German language is an advantage).
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Must have technical skill
- Experienced engineer with strong knowledge of vehicle homologation, regulatory compliance, and certification processes, having contributed to at least two complete vehicle development programs.
- Strong expertise in homologation planning, type approval, regulatory requirements, certification documentation, compliance management, and market-specific legislation, supported by basic CAD and PLM tool knowledge.
- Knowledge of global automotive regulations (ECE, FMVSS, GB, AIS, CMVR, etc.) and market-specific homologation requirements.
Good to have Technical skills
- Experience in type approval, certification planning, and Conformity of Production (CoP) activities.
- Familiarity with vehicle development, lifecycle and automotive product development processes.
- Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262), cybersecurity (UNECE R155/R156), and environmental regulations.
- Exposure to change management, release management, and engineering data management using PLM tools.
- Experience working with international regulatory authorities, testing agencies, and certification bodies.
- Knowledge of vehicle testing, validation, compliance verification, and issue management processes.
- German language proficiency is an added advantage.
- Experience in global and matrix organizations with multicultural stakeholder engagement
