Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
• Proficiency in ANSYS-Classic/Workbench and NX.
• Experience with Python and Excel VBA for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of rotating components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessories.
• Own mechanical hardware validation testing and evaluate designs for thermal growth and manufacturing variation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize subsystems and components.
• Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield using Lean principles.
• Manage milestones through technical reviews and ensure compliance with NPI processes.
• Mentor team members and engage with Principal and Chief Engineers.

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and optimization of components across our gas power portfolio. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for Rotating components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
• Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
• Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
• Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.

What You’ll Bring - Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s or bachelor’s in engineering with specialization in Mechanical, Design and Applied Mechanics
• Minimum of 4 years of Engineering experience.

• Additional 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience
• Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS-Classic/Workbench, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis.
