Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer to lead the design of HVAC systems for large industrial projects, including desert regions. You will select equipment, perform heat and cooling load calculations, and prepare detailed drawings and specifications.

You will collaborate with clients and cross‑functional teams, review vendor offers, and guide engineers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HVAC experience with design and project execution in industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of international design guidelines (ASHRAE/ISHRAE/SMACNA) and local codes.
• Experience designing HVAC for Middle East regions and compliance with local standards.
• Ability to manage ongoing projects and tender bids for HVAC systems.
• Proficient in technical specifications, calculations, design selection, and supplier management.
• Experience in design reviews: heat load, cooling load, BOQs, RFQs, and vendor documents.
• Hands-on knowledge of DX systems, chillers, package units and VRF systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design activities, including equipment selection and ducting layout.
• Coordinate with clients, architects and project teams to meet objectives.
• Prepare and review design basis reports, load calculations and technical specs.
• Guide engineers, manage vendors, and drive on-site documentation and expediting.

Job description

• Should have minimum 10+years Solid HVAC Experience and Knowledge in Desalination Plants, Effluent Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, Refineries and Power Industries. Underground STP exposures will be added advantage.
• Should Have good knowledge and understanding of international design guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, DW, BS).
• Should have HVAC Design Experience for Middle East Regions & its Local Building Codes and Standards.
• Should have ability to handle Ongoing projects, Tender Jobs for HVAC system.
• Should have Good Working Skills in Technical Specification, Calculation, Design selection, Detail Engineering Development and Supplier Management for the HVAC Systems.
• Should have good knowledge in preparation & review of Design Basis Reports, Heat Load & Cooling Load Calculations, BOQs, Technical Specification, RFQ Documents, Vendor Offers & Documents related to HVAC systems.
• Should have good knowledge in Dx Type AC System, Chiller System, Package Units, VRF and any other HVAC related systems.
• Should guide and lead the HVAC engineers assigned under the team.
• Should have Software Skill like HAP, Elite, AutoCAD, Naviswork, 3D Viewer tools, Duct Sizer etc.
• Work closely with clients, architects, and project teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Designing of HVAC systems, including equipment selection (such as chillers, pumps, AHU, FCU, VRF, and ventilation fans), ductwork layout, piping, HVAC control system, optimizing energy efficiency. Preparation of detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge on space planning for AHU, fans, HVAC plant rooms, etc. pipe sizing for chilled water, hot water, condenser water, refrigerant, VRF, etc.
• Key interactions: Internally with Project teams, Procurement, Construction departments and others engineering disciplines; Externally with Clients and Suppliers.
• Able to attend technical meetings with Clients, Suppliers, Vendors for Ongoing projects as well as for Tender Jobs.
• Able to Manage Client, Execution team, Vendors and Off-site Engineering Disciplines.
• Able to Expedite Onsite vendors for Documentation, Manufacturing and Site Work Completion.
