Job summary

Airbus India Private Limited in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Java Developer with 7+ years of experience in core software engineering and a background in electrical or aerospace domains. You will design and build software for electrical harness design and systems integration.

You will work on backend Java applications and microservices, integrate with Siemens Capital, and collaborate with cross-functional aerospace engineers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience in Java/J2EE within electrical, aerospace, defense, or automotive engineering environments.
• Core Java (11+), Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Domain: electrical wiring harnesses, EWIS, and domain interoperability with ECAD/MCAD/PLM tools.
• Platform: Siemens Capital suite and its API ecosystem.
• Preferred: Electrical/Aerospace/Computer Science background; XML/JSON data handling; Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize backend Java applications and microservices for complex electrical system design platforms.
• Develop plugins and data bridges for Siemens Capital integration and automation rules.
• Model domains for wiring schematics and EWIS, and ensure API interoperability with ECAD/MCAD/PLM systems.
• Lead code reviews, set best practices, and collaborate with aerospace/electrical teams.

Lead Engineer - Methods & Tools

Team: Airbus India - Engineering Methods & Tools

About the team: We are a transverse team working with different core engineering verticals in Airbus. The USP of this team is working in a multi-functional environment providing digital solutions to engineering problems. The team is composed of people with Core Engineering domain knowledge complemented by software development skills. The team plays an enabler role in various digitization initiatives across Airbus utilizing the latest technologies and the domain knowledge they have.

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with 7+ years of core software engineering experience and a background in electrical engineering or aerospace domains. In this role, you will design, customize, and build advanced software solutions and tools, with a focus on electrical harness design and systems integration. Hands‑on product development or integration experience with Siemens Capital (formerly Mentor Graphics Capital) is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Architecture & Development: Design, build, and optimize backend Java applications, microservices, and custom extensions for complex electrical system design platforms.
• Siemens Capital Integration: Develop custom plugins, custom actions, data bridges, and automation rules using the Siemens Capital API (Capital Logic, Capital Harness XC, Capital Enterprise Integrator).
• Domain Modeling: Translate complex electrical harness structures, wiring schematics, pinouts, and EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) rules into robust, scalable software models.
• System Interoperability: Build APIs and integration pipelines between ECAD software, MCAD platforms (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX), and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Enovia).
• Technical Leadership: Conduct code reviews, establish best practices for Java and API development, and collaborate with cross-functional aerospace/electrical engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience in Java/J2EE within electrical, aerospace, defense, or automotive engineering environments.

Core Technical Stack

• Advanced proficiency in Core Java (Java 11+, object-oriented architecture, multi-threading, RESTful APIs, design patterns).
• Deep experience with enterprise Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle).

Domain Expertise

• Solid understanding of electrical wiring schematics, harness layout, pin-to-pin connectivity, or aerospace EWIS standards.

Platform Expertise

• Hands‑on development experience with Siemens Capital suite (Capital Logic, Harness XC, Systems Architect) and its custom plugin/API ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Exposure to XML, JSON data transformation pipelines, and database optimization (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices, Git, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
