Job summary

Milacron is seeking a Lead Engineer with 6–12 years of experience in mechanical design and development of injection molding and extrusion machinery. The role focuses on end-to-end product design, concept development, and DFMEA, with strong emphasis on GD&T and material selection.

You will create detailed drawings, BOMs, and coordinate with casting, welding, and fabrication teams. Familiarity with SPI/Euromap standards and sheet metal design is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end product design of Injection molding and Extrusion machines.
• Strong design calculations and material selection knowledge.
• Ability to customize standard machines with variant configurations.
• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic components selection.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and VA/VE processes.
• Familiar with SPI/Euromap design standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop injection molding and extrusion machines and spm.
• Create drawings and BOM for entire machine.
• Perform concept design, calculations, and material selection.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for casting, welding and fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with SPI/Euromap standards.

Job description

Position: Lead Engineer

Qualification: B.E (Mechanical/Production) (10 to 12 years)

Job Description:

Dynamic Mechanical Engineer with 6 to 8 years of experience in design and development of injection molding machines, extrusion machines, Special purpose machines involving heavy structures, castings, and light weight fabrication etc.

Requirements:

1. Experience in end-to-end product design and development of Injection molding machines/Extrusion Machines/Special Purpose Machines/Heavy Machineries.
2. Concept design, design calculations (Machine design/bending/torsion), material selection and knowledge about heat treatment process.
3. Customization of Standard and New machines with variant configuration, Competitor product analysis / Bench marking.
4. Design and develop complex pieces of equipment such as Screws, twin screws, manifolds, and precise equipment’s like, tie bars, cylinders and valves with problem solving skills.
5. Experience in selection of machine elements like cylinders, bearings, LM Guides, couplings, servo motors, Hydraulic pumps, rotary unions etc.
6. Reverse engineering, design optimization for cost reduction and DFMEA.
7. Knowledge about SPI/Euro map standards in design and development of injection molding machines.
8. Good knowledge in manufacturing process such as casting, heavy fabrication and light fabrication, welding, and machine operations.
9. Experience in sheet metal design and specifications.
10. Extensive knowledge of GD&T, welding symbols, surface finish, Tolerance stack up, limits and fits
11. Hands on Knowledge in Continuous Improvement and Value Analysis & Value Eng. (VA&VE)
12. Creating detailed drawings (Part drawings, Assembly drawings and GA drawings)
13. Creating BOM for the entire machine.
14. Knowledge about hydraulic piping’s and fitting selection.
15. Knowledge about DIN, ISO, ANSI, ASME, SPI and Euromap standards.
16. Knowledge about plastic materials.

Tool Experience:

1. Cad tool: Hands on experience in Creo 10.0 (Solid Modeling/sheet metal/Drawing/Layout/large assemblies)
2. PDM: Wind-chill 13.0
3. ERP tools: Oracle (JD Edwards) Basic knowledge
4. Math cad 11.0 (Basic knowledge)
