Job summary

Xsub Robotics in Chennai is seeking an experienced electrical engineering lead to drive the development of electrical systems for XL-UUV platforms. The role requires coordinating power management, propulsion, illumination, vision and embedded systems with a focus on robustness and standards compliance.

You will oversee circuit design evaluation, manufacturing, testing, component selection, and embedded solutions, while coordinating with mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to deliver

Responsibilities

• Lead development of electrical systems for XL-UUV platforms, including power management, propulsion, illumination, vision, communication and embedded systems following international standards.
• Analyse and evaluate circuit designs based on simulations and ensure robustness of electronic systems.
• Oversee manufacturing, assembly, and testing of electrical modules per defined standards and protocols.
• Lead selection of electrical and electronic components aligned with system requirements and operating conditions.
• Develop embedded systems including digital, analog, and microcontroller-based designs.
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information.
• Maintain a database of design and manufacturing processes, testing protocols, failure logs, repairs and BOM.
• Support in vendor selection and vendor management.
• Prepare and track project timelines and budgets along with other project management aspects.
• Develop high-voltage, high-power systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to design and develop the product.
• Establish structured engineering processes, workflows, and best practices within the electrical engineering team.

2. Analysis and evaluation of circuit designs based on simulation studies and ensure robustness of electronic systems.
3. Oversee manufacturing, assembly, and testing of electrical modules in accordance with defined standards and protocols.
4. Lead selection of electrical and electronic components aligned with system requirements and operational conditions.
5. Develop and guide embedded systems including digital, analog, and microcontroller-based designs.
6. Preparation of product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising the information
7. Maintaining a database of design & manufacturing processes, testing protocols, failure logs, repairs and BOM
8. Support in vendor selection and vendor management
9. Preparation and tracking of project timelines and budgets in addition to the other general project management aspects of the department
