SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA in Bengaluru seeks a Platform Engineer to own stability, automation, and CI/CD tooling for the cloud platform. You will operate core services, improve observability, and drive automation.
This role spans run engineering, delivery platforming, and SRE-aligned practices, collaborating with global teams to scale infrastructure, pipelines, and incident response.
You will join the SG Cloud Platform Engineering organization, responsible for building and operating the core automation, quality and IaC tooling used across Société Générale’s internal cloud ecosystem.
The DevOps Engineering team is a 5 person‑person agile squad distributed between Paris and Bangalore.
Its mission is to ensure platform reliability, automation first operations, and developer‑first operations, and developergrade‑grade CI/CD and observability tooling used by more than 300 engineers.
As a Platform Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and automation of the cloud platform’s core services, including API automation layers, observability components, CI/CD workflows, IaC toolchains, and QA/Documentation systems.
You will operate production services at scale, reduce operational toil through automation, and continuously improve the platform’s delivery and observability capabilities.
Technical SkillsStrong experience with CI/CD tooling (Github Action/GitLab CI, Jenkins)Solid expertise in Infrastructure as Code—Terraform, Ansible preferredHands‑on experience with platform automation, scripting/coding (Python), and workflow orchestrationProficiency in containerized environments (Docker / Kubernetes, registries, build pipelines)Understanding of monitoring and observability at scale (metrics, logs, traces)Engineering MindsetReliability‑first mindset with strong operational disciplineAbility to automate, industrialize, and eliminate manual processesStrong troubleshooting capabilities across distributed systemsClear communication and collaborative problem solving across global teamsProfile requiredRequired Skills & Experience7+ years of experience in software development and architecture.Programming & Architecture: Strong experience in Python, Golang object‑oriented programming, and microservices architecture.Cloud Expertise: Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, operations, and resource definitions; familiarity with AWS and Azure.Data Handling: Ability to manage large datasets and optimize performance.Database Management: Proficient in PostgreSQL and writing robust SQL queries.Visualization & Monitoring: Experience with Grafana, ElasticSearch, and FluentD.Containerization & Deployment: Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.DevOps & CI/CD: Proficient with GIT, Jenkins, Sonar, and automation pipelines.System Skills: Strong knowledge of Linux OS and bash scripting.Agile Practices: Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments.Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and transversal responsibilities.Proactivity & Product Orientation: Ability to challenge legacy systems and drive iterative enhancements.
