The Corporate Institute, a 40-year-old boutique investment bank, is seeking a Lead – Corporate Client Coverage in Mumbai. The role requires 10+ years of experience and a strong record in end-to-end deal origination within investment banking.

You will lead debt and equity mandates, cultivate promoter/CXO relationships, and collaborate on teasers, pitch books, financial models and due diligence to drive closures.

Qualifications

• Background in debt advisory, corporate banking, corporate finance or PE/MEGA with market dynamics understanding.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills focused on deal origination and end-to-end closure.
• Demonstrated initiative and maturity in client assignments and deals.
• Development and interpretation of financial models and valuation matrices.

Responsabilités

• Deal origination, structuring and negotiation of mandates for debt/structured debt financing and equity/structured equity financing.
• Build and leverage relationships with promoters and senior management levels (CXOs).
• Understand full spectrum of clients' financial and capital raising needs.
• Collaborate with IB team to prepare teasers, pitch books, information memos, presentations and financial models.
• Serve as primary relationship interface with corporates for equity, debt and corporate finance products.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and advisors.
• Support primary research including market sizing, competitor benchmarking, and internal investment memos and due diligence.
• Maintain awareness of market trends and lending appetite to originate suitable transactions.

We are a 40-year-old boutique investment bank, listed on BSE, having a strong debt & private equity advisory practice. We specialize in offering mid-market client solutions for raising structured debt, anchored around promoter financing, PE buyout, acquisition finance and long term infusion of non-dilutive capital through quasi debt offerings. We also specialize in helping client raise venture capital, early stage / late-stage equity and all forms of growth capital in listed and unlisted space including secondary placements through family offices and institutional investors.

We are looking to hire a Senior resource for our investment banking division who will spearhead our efforts in originating deals, both debt & equity focusing on mid-market companies. The ideal candidate will be a successful Investment Banker with proven end-to-end transaction experience and enduring Promoter/CFO level relationships.

Scope of Role:

• Deal Origination, structuring, negotiation of mandates with Corporates for Debt / structured debt financing / Equity / structured equity financing.
• Deep network and established relationships with corporates at promoter / senior Management levels i.e. CXOs.
• Understand the full spectrum of the client’s financial & capital raising requirements.
• Work with the IB team in preparation of teasers, pitch books, information memorandum, management presentations, financial models and other deal related presentations & notes.
• Acting as a primary relationship interface with corporates for all equity, debt, corporate finance & structured financial products.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders and advisors.
• Support primary research; for instance, consumer interviews, market sizing, competitor benchmarking, creation of internal investment memos and debt due diligence to facilitate closure.
• Strong awareness of market trends and credit underwriting appetite of potential lenders in order to originate the right kind of transactions.
• Manage revenue driven performance evaluation matrix.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Background of Debt advisory/Corporate Banking / Corporate Finance / Real Estate PE / Private Equity / M&A / Structured Finance with a thorough understanding of market dynamics & macro-economic variables.
• A Self Starter with excellent communication, interpersonal & presentation skills focused on deal origination & end to end closure.
• Demonstrated initiative & maturity in dealing with assignments & clients.
• Development & interpretation of financial models & valuation matrices.
• Strong problem-solving & analytical skills.
