Job description

Overview:

Be part of a highly successful & boutique investment banking practice. Work closely with the high-performance team in securing, managing, and executing M&A and capital raising transactions across a broad spectrum of sectors and industries.

The role will primarily involve performing the following functions that includes, sector and company research, collection of primary information from the client, preparation of deal collaterals – that includes investor presentation, financial model, valuation model etc and also generating deal ideas.

Key success parameters will include assisting in successful closure of transactions and successful idea origination.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in Transaction Execution & Closure: Assist the lead advisory team in managing and closing transactions. Work on multiple engagements to provide transaction support such as undertaking sector, industry, and company research, understanding and preparing business models, valuation models, understanding and preparing information memorandum, financial analysis, corporate presentations and other deal collaterals.
• Ability to co-ordinate with promoters, CEO, CFO, Finance controllers, C-suite people, financial / legal / tax advisors in ensuring effective project management. Also assist in transaction structuring, due diligence activities, and transaction closure.
• Idea Generation and Opportunity Sourcing: Generate suitable ideas (buy-side, sell-side, capital raising) by undertaking sector, industry and company research. Generate actionable ideas that can be suitably converted into mandates. Also assist other lead advisory team members in idea generation by undertaking research. Help the team to secure mandates by assisting in gathering intelligence about potential leads, preparing company introductions, and preparing proposals, etc.
• Communication & Teamwork: Communicate, coordinate, and work with different teams such as teams in other locations, due diligence teams, valuation team etc. as required to assist in execution of projects and mandates.
• Thought Leadership: Focus on certain sector/ industry segments to generate thought leadership material such as articles, sector intelligence reports, etc.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Industry and Sector skills: Must display strong understanding of select sectors such as Consumer/Healthcare/Industrials etc.
• Technical Skills:
  • Display strong understanding of macro / micro economics & business concepts
  • Exceptional understanding of accounting and finance concepts.
  • Must possess strong skills in preparing collaterals such as business plans and information memorandum.
  • Very strong competency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Word tools
• Communication and soft skills:
  • Must display very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work as a team

• Experience:
  • 3 + years of experience working in an investment banking or suitable corporate finance role
  • 5 + years of experience working in the Big 4 Due Diligence / Valuation team
  • Experience working on M&A and capital raising transactions with a direct customer facing front end role
  • Experience and good understanding of the life-sciences, healthcare and consumer market
• Education:
