Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for scalable, resilient, and low-latency trading platforms and distributed systems.
• Lead the transition of technology ownership from external vendors to internal engineering teams, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity.
• Own platform reliability, production stability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Contribute to software development, architecture reviews, and resolution of complex production issues.
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality, testing frameworks, and CI/CD processes.
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams while fostering an engineering-first culture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform capabilities with objectives.

One of our clients, a leading financial market infrastructure institution and India's premier commodity derivatives exchange, is looking to hire an AVP – Technology (Trading Software) to drive the organization's strategic transition from vendor-led development to a world-class in-house engineering capability while strengthening its trading technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for scalable, resilient, and low-latency trading platforms and distributed systems
• Lead the transition of technology ownership from external vendors to internal engineering teams, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and business continuity
• Own platform reliability, production stability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization initiatives
• Actively contribute to software development, architecture reviews, and resolution of complex production issues
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, testing frameworks, and CI/CD processes
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams while fostering an engineering-first culture
• Collaborate with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to align platform capabilities with organizational objectives
• Drive continuous modernization of the technology stack through adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and development practices

Qualifications:

• 14–17 years of experience in exchange technology, trading platforms, fintech, capital markets, or high-performance technology environments
• Strong hands-on expertise in C++ with exposure to Golang and low-latency system development
• Proven experience designing and managing large-scale distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams of 10+ members
• Strong understanding of performance engineering, system optimization, and production support in mission-critical environments
• Experience driving technology transformation initiatives and reducing dependency on third-party vendors
• Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities
