Job summary

Airbus India Private Limited is seeking a Lead CAD Engineer for Methods & Tools to design, develop, and extend CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE plugins using C++ and EKL. You will drive automation and templating for advanced aerospace CAD models while coordinating with PLM architects and engineering teams in a cross‑functional setting.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring high code quality with robust testing within an integrated 3DEXPERIENCE environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional CAD development experience in automotive or aerospace.
• Strong C++ with CAA V5/V6 expertise and EKL.
• Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE platform and PLM integration.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development: Design, code, and maintain robust C++ and CAA plugins/extensions for CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
• Automation & Rules: Leverage EKL to embed engineering rules, template design, parameterization, and automated workflows within 3DEXPERIENCE models.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams, PLM architects, and business stakeholders to translate domain requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, modular code; conduct peer code reviews, unit testing, and continuous debugging within the CAA framework.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, guide, and mentor junior CAD developers, conducting code reviews, providing technical direction on CAA/EKL best practices, and driving team productivity and skill growth.

Team: Airbus India - Engineering Methods & Tools

About the team:

We are a transverse team working with different core engineering verticals in Airbus. The USP of this team is working in a multi-functional environment providing digital solutions to engineering problems. The team is composed of people with Core Engineering domain knowledge complemented by software development skills. The team plays an enabler role in various digitization initiatives across Airbus utilizing the latest technologies and the domain knowledge they have. We are seeking an experienced CAD Developer with at least 5 years of hands‑on expertise in C++, CAA (Component Application Architecture), 3DEXPERIENCE, and EKL (Enterprise Knowledge Language). In this role, you will design, customize, and extend core PLM/CAD solutions tailored for high‑complexity engineering environments.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 8 years of professional CAD application development in automotive or aerospace industries.
• Core Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in C++ (object‑oriented programming, memory management, design patterns). Demonstrated mastery of CAA V5 / V6 (3DEXPERIENCE platform API) development. Hands‑on knowledge of EKL (Enterprise Knowledge Language), Knowledge Template creation, and Rule/Reaction scripts.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong grasp of automotive or aerospace (e.g., airframe, aero‑structures, routing) product development processes is a Plus.
• Platform Expertise: Familiarity with the overall 3DEXPERIENCE architecture, Data Model, and PLM integration patterns.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Python script automation, web services (3DEXPERIENCE REST APIs / Enovia Web Services), or SQL. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Git/SVN, and CI/CD pipelines for CAA projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
