Baazi Games is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer in India to lead the design and development of scalable backend services and APIs. You will own architecture, system design, and technical decisions while writing clean, production-ready code.

You will build and optimize REST APIs and databases, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. You will mentor engineers and collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, DevOps, and other teams.

• 8+ years of backend development experience.

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs.
• Own backend architecture, system design, and technical decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
• Build and optimize REST APIs/microservices and database solutions.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Work closely with Product, Frontend, DevOps, and other teams.
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause resolution.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java/Node.js backend technology.
• Strong understanding of DSA, OOP, databases, APIs, and system design.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Prior experience leading projects or mentoring engineers.

Good to Have:

Experience handling high-scale systems and large data volumes.

Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, or similar technologies.

Experience owning backend architecture from 0→1.
