Job summary

Tarento in Bengaluru is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Java or Python to own end-to-end architecture for scalable services. You will design systems, write high-quality HLD/LLD, and drive production ownership across microservices, caching, and observability.

You will mentor engineers, define SLOs/SLIs, resolve incidents, and work with data stores (PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis) and queues (Kafka/Pulsar/RabbitMQ).

Qualifications

• Expertise in Java or Python.
• Strong DS/Algo and system design fundamentals.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems; REST/gRPC.
• Knowledge of datastores: Postgres/MySQL, Redis; one NoSQL.
• Cloud and containerization experience (AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and author HLD/LLD docs.
• Build scalable microservices using Java (Spring Boot) or Python.
• Design systems for high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerance.
• Optimize performance using caching, sharding, load balancing, concurrency.
• Define SLOs/SLIs and drive observability using metrics, logs, tracing.
• Lead incident resolution, RCA, and preventive engineering.
• Mentor other engineers and lead engineering best practices
