Job summary

Cotecna in Mumbai, India is seeking a Lead Auditor – Food Safety to execute audits per standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FSSAI) and to conduct trainings. You will ensure timely audit reports and training packs while developing new modules.

The role requires a food/bioscience degree, 2+ years in quality assurance or food safety, and completion of Lead Auditor training (40 hours), HACCP, and Food Fraud/Defence training, with sound knowledge of country regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in food or bioscience or equivalent.
• 2+ years of full-time work in quality assurance/food safety in food production, manufacturing, retailing, inspection, or enforcement.
• Lead Auditor Training (40 hours/5 days) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor + ISO 22000/ FSSC 22000 conversion or 22000 Foundation course.
• HACCP training (minimum 2 days) with exam.
• Food Fraud and Food Defence training with exam (FSSC).
• Knowledge of country-specific food regulations.

Responsibilities

• Execute food audits per-standard procedures for GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FSSAI, and 2nd party audits.
• Deliver trainings per-standard procedures for various food standards.
• Submit audit reports and training packs within defined TAT.
• Develop and execute new audits/trainings modules as required.
• Support compliance with accreditation requirements.
• Assist Sales with customer referrals and meetings.

Mission of the Role
The position will have the responsibility for execution of Food Safety Audit/Training.

Key Responsibilities

• Execution of food audits as per-standard procedure for various standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FSSAI, 2nd party audits etc)
• Execution of trainings as per-standard procedure for various Food Standards
• Submission of audit reports, trainings packs as per defined TAT.
• Developments and executions of new audits/ trainings modules as per requirements
• Acting for compliance against accreditation requirements
• Supporting Sales team with customer referral and business meeting

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills

• The auditor has a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a food or bio science related discipline
• Experience in the food or associated industry including at least 2 years’ full-time work in quality assurance or food safety functions in food production or manufacturing, retailing, inspection or enforcement or the equivalent. (For food safety and quality consultancy experience in a food or associated industry can be used to meet a maximum of 6 months of the work experience requirement. The number of man-days of consultancy provided shall be equivalent to the duration allocated towards work experience). 3rd party audit experience within the food industry will be considered as relevant work experience.
• The auditor has completed Food Safety Management System Lead Auditor Training – minimum duration of 40 hours (5 days); or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training (minimum 40 hours) and ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 conversion course or ISO 22000 Foundation Self-study course.
• Successful completion of minimum 2 days (Minimum 8 hours in a day) HACCP training along with exam
• Successful completion of Food Fraud and Food Defence training including an exam (Specific to FSSC)
• Knowledge on applicable Country specific Food regulation
