Role Overview:

Indegene is seeking a highly motivated and business-oriented Applied AI Consultant to drive AI-led transformation initiatives across service lines within the Enterprise Medical Services ecosystem.

This role sits at the intersection of business consulting, workflow transformation, Generative AI adoption, process automation, knowledge management, and value realization. The successful candidate will partner with service line leaders, subject matter experts, AI architects, and transformation teams to identify high-value opportunities, redesign workflows, implement AI-enabled solutions, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines consulting-style problem solving with strong execution capabilities and possesses a deep understanding of business operations, process optimization, and AI-powered transformation. Experience in Life Sciences and healthcare-related service lines will be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

AI Opportunity Identification & Transformation Strategy

• Partner with business leaders and operational SMEs to assess existing workflows, identify process inefficiencies, and uncover AI-driven transformation opportunities.
• Analyze workflow handoffs, effort drivers, rework cycles, operational bottlenecks, and value leakage points to identify areas for automation and optimization.
• Evaluate opportunities involving Generative AI, AI Agents, Copilots, Workflow Automation, Knowledge Graphs, and Intelligent Process Automation.
• Prioritize use cases based on business value, implementation feasibility, adoption readiness, operational complexity, and measurable impact potential.
• Translate strategic business priorities into actionable transformation roadmaps, implementation backlogs, and AI adoption plans.

AI Transformation Delivery & Implementation

• Lead assigned AI transformation initiatives from discovery and assessment through pilot execution, enterprise adoption, and value realization.
• Create structured implementation plans covering workflow redesign, technology enablement, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, testing, and adoption strategies.
• Collaborate with AI Architects, Product Teams, and Engineering teams to define solution approaches, technical feasibility, integration requirements, prompt strategies, and platform dependencies.
• Partner with business SMEs to validate process workflows, quality requirements, exception handling scenarios, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Ensure successful implementation and operationalization of AI-enabled solutions through stakeholder alignment and execution governance.

Knowledge Graph & Knowledge Enablement

• Identify and drive high-value Knowledge Graph opportunities across SOPs, business rules, domain content, playbooks, guidelines, and enterprise knowledge assets.
• Work with Knowledge Management teams to structure critical organizational knowledge, identify entities and relationships, and improve AI retrieval and reasoning capabilities.
• Support the design and implementation of Knowledge Graph-driven AI use cases that improve contextual understanding, traceability, and decision support.
• Track Knowledge Graph initiatives from discovery and prioritization through implementation, adoption, and business value measurement.

Workflow Reengineering & Change Adoption

• Redesign current-state workflows into scalable future-state operating models that leverage human-AI collaboration and intelligent automation.
• Define new process flows, review checkpoints, quality controls, governance mechanisms, exception pathways, and role responsibilities.
• Support pilot deployments, lighthouse programs, proof-of-concept initiatives, and scale-up efforts across business functions.
• Drive user adoption through training support, change management initiatives, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and feedback mechanisms.
• Monitor adoption patterns and identify barriers impacting utilization, performance, and business outcomes.

Value Realization & Performance Tracking

• Maintain transformation dashboards, implementation trackers, adoption metrics, and performance reporting mechanisms.
• Measure outcomes including productivity gains, workflow acceleration, quality improvements, cost efficiencies, adoption rates, and business impact.
• Partner with analytics and measurement teams to establish KPIs, performance baselines, and benefits realization frameworks.
• Develop business cases, impact assessments, executive reporting materials, and transformation success stories supported by measurable evidence.
• Capture lessons learned, implementation best practices, reusable frameworks, and transformation playbooks to support enterprise-scale AI adoption.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Act as a trusted transformation advisor for assigned business units and service lines.
• Collaborate with Service Line Leaders, SMEs, AI Architects, Product Teams, Knowledge Management stakeholders, Analytics teams, and Executive sponsors.
• Proactively identify and resolve implementation risks, governance concerns, resource constraints, data challenges, and decision bottlenecks.
• Communicate progress, risks, recommendations, and outcomes through governance forums, steering reviews, and leadership updates.

Desired Profile

• 5–8 years of experience in Business Transformation, Digital Transformation, AI Consulting, Process Excellence, PMO, Automation Programs, Operational Excellence, or Enterprise Change Initiatives.
• Proven experience identifying automation opportunities, redesigning workflows, building business cases, and leading implementation programs.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, AI Agents, Copilots, Intelligent Automation, Workflow Automation Platforms, Knowledge Management, and Enterprise AI adoption frameworks.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including Business Leaders, SMEs, Technology Teams, Product Teams, and Executive Leadership.
• Knowledge of process mapping methodologies, operating model design, business analysis, and transformation governance practices.
• Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and value-oriented decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
• Experience working with metrics, KPIs, performance measurement frameworks, and value realization methodologies.
• Prior experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Services, Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Publications, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Communications, or Commercial Operations will be a strong advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline. MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
