Job summary

RiDiK is seeking an Android Test Lead to drive testing strategy and automation for customized Android (AOSP-based) handheld devices in Bengaluru. You will validate platform-level customizations, ensuring CTS/VTS/GTS alignment and device stability, while leading a small QA/automation team.

The role requires deep Android internals knowledge, CTS fault analysis, and strong Java/Kotlin (or Python) coding skills, with experience in CI/CD pipelines and device-level testing.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing and fixing CTS failures.
• Experience testing embedded Android devices and handhelds/IoT with hardware-software interaction.
• Strong programming skills in Java/Kotlin and Python.
• Experience with Android test frameworks: JUnit, Instrumentation, UI Automator, Espresso.
• Experience building custom automation frameworks for devices with familiarity towards ADB, Fastboot, Logcat, and Dumpsys.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end test strategy for customized Android devices at the AOSP layer.
• Lead validation of AOSP customizations including framework, HAL, and system services.
• Design and implement automation frameworks for platform-level and device-level testing.
• Analyze and triage CTS failures and coordinate with development teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure CTS, VTS, and GTS compliance where applicable.
• Build scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution on physical devices.
• Drive test coverage improvements across functional, regression, performance, and stability testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Android system developers and firmware teams.
• Mentor and lead a small team of QA engineers and automation developers.
• Define and track quality metrics, release readiness, and risk assessments.

Responsible for validating platform-level customizations and ensuring compatibility, stability, and compliance using CTS and advanced automation frameworks

Primary Skills

Deep expertise in Android internals, AOSP builds

Experience analyzing and fixing CTS failures

Experience testing embedded Android devices / handhelds / IoT devices with solid understanding of hardware-software interaction.

Strong programming skills in Java/Kotlin and/or Python .

Ensure compliance with CTS, VTS, and GTS requirements where applicable.

Drive test coverage improvements, including functional, regression, performance, and stability testing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Android system developers, firmware teams etc.,).
