RiDiK is seeking an Android Test Lead to drive testing strategy and automation for customized Android (AOSP-based) handheld devices in Bengaluru. You will validate platform-level customizations, ensuring CTS/VTS/GTS alignment and device stability, while leading a small QA/automation team.
The role requires deep Android internals knowledge, CTS fault analysis, and strong Java/Kotlin (or Python) coding skills, with experience in CI/CD pipelines and device-level testing.
Deep expertise in Android internals, AOSP builds
Experience analyzing and fixing CTS failures
Experience testing embedded Android devices / handhelds / IoT devices with solid understanding of hardware-software interaction.
Strong programming skills in Java/Kotlin and/or Python .
Experience with Android test frameworks: JUnit, Instrumentation, UI Automator, Espresso
Experience building custom automation frameworks for devices with familiarity towards ADB, Fastboot, Logcat, Dumpsys
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
Experience integrating automated tests into pipelines.
Knowledge of performance testing and profiling tools
Understand the product/domain end to end, take ownership at AOSP layer, define and own the end-to-end test strategy for customized Android devices.
Lead validation of AOSP customizations, including framework, HAL, and system services.
Design and implement automation frameworks for: Platform-level testing, device-level integration testing
Analyze and triage CTS (Compatibility Test Suite) failures and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
Ensure compliance with CTS, VTS, and GTS requirements where applicable.
Build scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution on physical devices.
Drive test coverage improvements, including functional, regression, performance, and stability testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Android system developers, firmware teams etc.,).
Mentor and lead small team of QA engineers and automation developers.
Define and track quality metrics, release readiness, and risk assessments.
