Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited in Bengaluru seeks a Layout Engineer to develop block, macro, or chip level layouts and floorplans in collaboration with design teams. You will analyze designs, verify with Cadence tools, and ensure DRC/LVS compliance across technology nodes.

The role requires 8–12 years’ experience in high-speed/analog/mixed-signal layouts, proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre, and strong collaboration skills to work with global teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelors with 4+ years designing custom layouts in analog/mixed-signal/digital domains or equivalent experience.
• Associate's degree with 6+ years in relevant layout design/work experience.
• High school diploma with 8+ years in layout design and verification domains.
• 4+ years using layout design and verification tools (Cadence, LVS, rmap).
• 8–12 years of expertise in high-speed/analog/mixed-signal layouts across technology nodes.

Responsibilities

• Own top-level physical layout for complex analog, digital, or mixed-signal designs across nodes.
• Meet layout performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality requirements (DRC/LVS).
• Collaborate with design, verification, CAD, and technology teams across geographies.
• Mentor junior layout engineers and promote design quality and efficiency.
• Leverage automation and scripting to reduce repetitive tasks and turnaround time.

Proficient in Cadence Virtuoso layout XL / GXL / EXL and Calibre physical verification flow and expertise in debugging skills.Ability to work & communicate effectively with global engineering teams. Effectively multitask and lead parallel projects, coordinating execution and priorities by well collaborating with the team members.Capable of leveraging automation and having scripting expertise to eliminate repetitive manual tasks, improving efficiency and reducing total turnaround time.
