Job summary

Holcim in India seeks a lab technician to receive, identify and prepare cement samples, ensuring traceability and compliance with lab procedures. You will perform physical testing per EN 196, ASTM, API and related standards, maintain records and operate equipment safely in a structured laboratory environment.

The role requires a technical degree in chemistry or related field, with a focus on accurate data recording and adherence to health, safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, and prepare cement samples according to laboratory procedures.
• Prepare representative composite samples for physical and mechanical testing.
• Perform physical testing in accordance with EN 196, ASTM, API, or other applicable standards.
• Ensure correct sample traceability and identification throughout the testing process.
• Properly retain and store samples in accordance with laboratory requirements.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and correctly.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
• Carry out daily verification and performance checks.
• Assist during equipment calibration activities and report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Record all analytical results accurately and legibly.
• Complete laboratory worksheets, logbooks and electronic records.
• Maintain full traceability of samples and test results.
• Ensure compliance with document control requirements and identify and report non‑conforming work.
• Follow company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
