Job summary

Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology in Chennai seeks a fellow for the Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory Quantum Technology project funded by the National Quantum Mission. The selected candidate will assist in building and running quantum communication experiments and maintain lab equipment.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in ECE, EEE, CS, IT, Physics or Quantum Tech.
• Strong interest in Quantum Technology and Quantum Communication.
• Basic knowledge of electronics, communication systems, programming and lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of undergraduate Quantum Communication experiments.
• Support faculty in setting up and maintaining quantum lab experiments.
• Handle optical, electronic, communication and quantum lab equipment.
• Assist in preparation, testing and documentation of experimental setups.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and records; provide technical support during training and workshops.
• Troubleshoot hardware and instrumentation; support data collection and reporting.

Funding Agency: National Quantum Mission (NQM), DST, Government of India

Duration: 2 Years extendable up to 5 Years

Fellowship: ₹25,000/- per month (Consolidated)

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or Quantum Technology.
• Strong interest in Quantum Technology and Quantum Communication.
• Basic knowledge of electronics, communication systems, programming, and laboratory instrumentation will be preferred.
• Assist in the development and implementation of undergraduate-level Quantum Communication experiments.
• Support faculty in setting up and maintaining quantum communication laboratory experiments.
• Assist in handling optical, electronic, communication and quantum laboratory equipment.
• Assist in the preparation, testing and documentation of experimental setups.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, components and experimental records.
• Provide technical support during student training, laboratory sessions, workshops and demonstrations.
• Assist in troubleshooting hardware, instrumentation and experimental setups.
• Support project-related data collection, documentation and technical reporting.
• Perform other technical activities related to the NQM-funded Quantum Communication project as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
