The Foundation for Medical Research (FMR) seeks a Lab Technician to run molecular diagnostics workflows at the hub laboratory in India. You will handle samples, perform RT‑PCR assays, and report results while maintaining documentation and SOP adherence.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Microbiology / Life Sciences / Biotechnology (or relevant discipline) with minimum 3 years of research/lab experience OR M.Sc. in the same disciplines with minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience in a molecular biology lab and molecular techniques
• Currently living in, or willing to relocate to, the study location you are applying for (Bhopal / Raipur)
• Age 35 years or below
• Willing to accept the fixed, non‑negotiable salary and contractual tenure stated above

Responsibilities

• Run the molecular diagnostics workflow at the assigned hub laboratory.
• Handle and timely process samples collected from participating health facilities.
• Conduct RT-PCR assays as per study SOPs.
• Collate lab results and prepare result reports.
• Maintain study documentation and real‑time reporting to FMR.
• Support Project Scientist for project activities as required.
• Contribute to writing scientific papers for publication.
• Support other project‑related scientific/technical activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lab Technician will run the molecular diagnostics workflow at the assigned hub laboratory.

• Handling and timely processing of samples collected from participating health facilities
• Conducting RT-PCR assays as per study SOPs
• Collating lab results and preparing result reports
• Maintaining study documentation and real‑time reporting to FMR
• Support Project Scientist if required for project activities
• Contributing to writing scientific papers for publication
• Supporting other project‑related scientific/technical activities

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of microbiology and molecular biology
• Proficiency in English and Hindi or the local language
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation skills
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Familiarity with biosafety and laboratory quality control
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Experience handling infectious clinical samples
• Experience in molecular biology techniques, especially PCR-based methods
• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and biosafety training
