Job summary

Drlogy is seeking a Lab Technician – Microbiology at our Kurnool lab to process clinical specimens and perform microbiological investigations under established protocols. You will ensure quality, safety and proper documentation throughout all steps.

Responsibilities include handling blood, urine, sputum and swabs, conducting culture, staining, microscopy, and susceptibility testing as trained, while maintaining records and coordinating with clinical departments and pathologists.

Qualifications

• DMLT or BSc MLT completed.
• 1-6 years of lab experience in microbiology.
• Experience handling clinical specimens and lab safety.

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, label and process microbiological specimens.
• Handle samples like blood, urine, sputum, swabs as per SOP.
• Perform routine microbiological tests and culture procedures.
• Assist with staining, microscopy and identification procedures.
• Carry out antimicrobial susceptibility testing as trained.
• Prepare culture media and reagents according to SOPs.
• Maintain specimen storage and transport conditions.
• Keep accurate lab records and test documentation.
• Report significant findings to senior staff.
• Ensure biosafety and infection control procedures are followed.
• Maintain equipment and report issues promptly.
• Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal.
• Keep the lab clean and sterile where required.
• Coordinate with microbiologists and clinical departments.
