Job summary

Mahajan Imaging is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform tests as per SOPs and to confirm tests when in doubt based on prescriptions. The role includes monitoring equipment with controls and calibrators to ensure accuracy, maintaining calibration, and ensuring appropriate handling of materials.

The incumbent will inform doctors if tests are not performed or delayed, verify data prior to validation, and maintain records of preventive maintenance and service reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests as per SOPs.
• In case of doubt, confirm from prescription/customer about tests.
• Monitor test equipment by running relevant controls/calibrators/retained sample to ensure accuracy.
• Upkeep of machines and equipment and their calibration when needed.
• Inform customer/referring doctor if any test is not performed or delayed.
• Verify results of all test data prior to validation.
• Inform lab director/purchase department about materials/reagents required for uninterrupted processing.
• Inspect received material and reagents.
• Ensure proper storage of all material.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Maintain records of equipment preventive/breakdown maintenance and service reports.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Follow instructions of consultants and management.
• Ensure proper housekeeping of place of work.
• Carry out any other tasks as instructed by superiors.

Job description

LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST:

• Perform the tests as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• In case of any doubt, confirm from prescription/customer about the tests that need to be done.
• Proper monitoring of test equipment by running the relevant controls/calibrators/retained sample as applicable, for ensuring accuracy of investigation.
• Upkeep of machines & equipment and their calibration whenever needed.
• Ensure that the customer/referring doctor is duly informed in case any test is not performed or is delayed.
• Verification of results of all test data prior to validation.
• Informing the lab director/purchase department about any materials & reagents that are required for uninterrupted processing of samples.
• Ensure the inspection of the received material and reagents.
• Ensure proper storage of all material.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Maintain records of equipment preventive/ breakdown maintenance and service reports.
• Implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Follow the instructions of consultants and management.
